The first part of this post is HERE
Ry is finally back home and built me my raised garden beds!!! And, as you can see, my plants were in desperate need of a forever home. I was moving them into my kitchen and out onto the deck every day and night, which wasn't exactly the favorite part of my day. And recently, we had a ridiculous hail/rain/snow storm and we were rushing in and out trying to get all the plants in the house as fast as possible. All the bags were soaking wet & ripping. But they survived ;)
He went to HomeDepot, picked up his supplies, and by the time he got home, he had them both built in about 35 minutes. :)
They are both the same size- about 6 ft long, 3ft wide, and 2 feet deep. (huge.)
SO huge that it took a ridiculous amount of soil to fill them. Here's 7 Costco size bags of miracle grow potting soil. (pretty sure its a 55 gal bag) Thank God for Costco. Haha, because obviously the boxes needed more than that. :p
This is where we decided to put them :)
& Heres them finally planted!!! I'll have to take some good pictures of the actual plants up close for a more detailed view- and a list of what I have growing, because these next pictures arent great. But I am so excited they are finally planted! :) My next project is to make a trellis for my sugar snap peas!
Oh and you can see the little stepping stone (above) that Bradlee made for Mothers Day, which was such a fun project, we'll be making lots more! And they'll all go right there between the garden beds! :)
(Ry had a great idea that I cant wait to get started on- He suggested that Bradlee paint flowers on the outside of my garden beds! Which I LOVE! And I have lots of ideas for how I want to do it. :) So stay tuned ;)
Our little helpers.. ;) Or whatever you would like to call them. ;)
